  • enjoined to upload data sets to an open data sharing platform that UPD may soon establish
  • permission from OVCRD or UPD-designated data clearing house to upload data sets on some open data sharing platform
  • publicly funded programs and projects, research contracts to contain provisions on data upload to UPD data sharing platform
  • certain percentage of admin cost should go cost of holding and (bulk) distribution of data. percentage - to be determined by TWG to be formed later

options

  • own infra, self-hosted
  • collaborate with bigger groups like Harvard's Dataverse

architecture

  • centralized - the university possibly through OVCRD will setup a platform for all.
  • federated/distributed - each cluster/college will be responsible for hosting their own platform with a standard way of sharing metadata and data catalog.
